In order to ensure fair and equal service to all our customers, we have specific policies regarding the pricing of our services.
Any Leica product comes with a manufacturer’s guarantee that is valid worldwide if the product was purchased from an authorized dealer.
If a product was purchased via an unauthorized channel or proof of purchase from an authorized dealer cannot be verified, regular repair charges apply.
The terms of warranty as stated in our official documents apply internationally. Proof of purchase from an authorized dealer has to be provided.
The standard LEICA product guarantee does not affect your statutory guarantee rights towards the distributor of your LEICA products but does not apply to the
manufacturer.
In such cases warranty claims have to be addressed with the seller/dealer.
In the case of your camera, we sold it to Austria and the purchase receipt you have sent is in Chinese letters and not signed or stamped by any dealer.

Leica has been replacing sensors free of charge for some years now and only charged part for the material cost since 01.09.2017 for affected cameras older than 5 years. We did not come by this decision lightly, but are unable to continue this service any longer. Starting on 01.12.2018 a contribution of €1303 + VAT applies.

Included in this programme is a free general overhaul of your Leica M camera and a one year warranty on the same terms as for new products. This offer expresses our commitment to conserving the value of the camera.

The general overhaul of the Leica M camera includes the following items:
•Cleaning and overhaul of the shutter cocking mechanisms
•Cleaning and maintenance/repair of the multifunction wheel
•Cleaning of the main switch and shutter speed dial
•Adjustment of the baseplate locking system
•Refurbishment of engravings
•Renewal of the protective film on the baseplate
•Maintenance/repair of viewfinder displays

Upgrade options are still available. Instead of a sensor exchange we offer our customers the option to trade-in the affected camera and to purchase one of the selected camera models to the following attractive conditions. We informed you about this option with the estimate.

Schmidt Marketing (HK) Ltd, the regional distributor of Leica in Germany, has promised consumers that the CCD for digital camera M-System is lifetime warranty and claims to be of high quality.

In fact, within five years, I personally went to the headquarters of the Leica company in Germany, and the problems of the camera have been repeatedly and repeatedly, based on the high maintenance costs.
