Leica’s own wording, carried by DPReview, LFI, Leica Rumors, Red Dot Forum: free CCD replacement regardless of the age of the camera, including sensors already replaced, refunds if already charged, “permanent technical solution.” The official URL later returned 403 Forbidden in this file (EX01).

- 2017-08-16: five-year new-purchase limit; older bodies €982 (DPReview “peeling CCDs”).
- 2018-12-01: €1303 + VAT — matches Ursula Brand, Customer Care, 6 Sep 2019, cc complaint.management, order 1058152.
- 2020: CCD production discontinued; defective sensors cannot be replaced; upgrade/trade-in (M10 then M11/SL/Q programmes, still advertised 2023–2024). Chinese official service page still states the same stop.
- Kolari Vision / LDP LLC: third-party cover-glass replacement after official parts ended. PetaPixel 2020: claim the IR glass was uncoated BG glass (Leica later issued a rebuttal — exhibited as controversy, not a court finding).
