2015: a Paris loaner camera, and a thread titled “many many quality problems”

DE: Im Juli 2015 organisierte der Kundendienst in Wetzlar eine Leihkamera (M240) über den Leica Store Paris; der Beschwerdeführer fragte, warum seine Leica-M-Kameras so viele Qualitätsprobleme hätten. Behauptung, keine Feststellung. Keine neuen Tatsachen.

This note adds no new facts. It points to an item already in the archive’s journal entry for 2015-07-10 and the underlying email thread 14e771dd4651615b (9 messages, 10 to 17 July 2015). In that thread, Leica Customer Care in Wetzlar arranged a loaner M240 for the complainant through Leica Store Paris, and later offered to ship the loaner to his hotel. The complainant replied that he could not get to the store in time, and wrote that he wondered “why my Leica M Cameras have so many quality problems”. The subject line he then used was “about the Leica many many quality problems”, and he said he would try to reach Wetzlar on the 16th.

To be fair to the record: the thread shows Customer Care trying to help with a loaner. It is in this file because it dates the start of the written quality complaints. That came one month after the June 2015 letter to then-CEO Oliver Kaltner and about half a year after the December 2014 “regardless of age” goodwill. The CCD corrosion dispute itself comes later. The timeline groups this with the 2015 Wetzlar visit and order 811072.

Open line as of 2026-10-07: /questions/ still lists Q1–Q12 with no numbered point-by-point written reply on file. That includes how the 2014 goodwill became a fee window, then €1303 + VAT, then “cannot replace”. Orders 1058152 / 1105973 stay on the payment-on-file record. Allegations and unanswered questions only, not a court finding.
