This note adds no new facts. It points to an item already in the archive’s journal entry for 2020-09-12: PetaPixel reported a teardown claim by the third-party repairer LDP LLC that the IR cover glass on the M9 CCD was uncoated BG glass (public PetaPixel source). Leica issued a rebuttal, which is also part of the public record. This archive treats the point as a disputed claim. It is not a finding, and nothing here says which side is right.
Why it sits in this file: the report came in September 2020, the same year the archive logs the alleged end of factory CCD exchange (2020 stop note). The independent cover-glass work that owners discussed afterwards is in the earlier note on the third-party glass path. The M9 CCD corrosion overview shows the teardown claim and the rebuttal side by side.
Open line as of 2026-10-06: /questions/ still lists Q1–Q12 with no numbered point-by-point written reply on file. That includes how the 2014 “regardless of age” goodwill became a fee window, then €1303 + VAT, then “cannot replace”. Orders 1058152 / 1105973 stay on the payment-on-file record. Allegations and unanswered questions only, not a court finding.
