This note adds no new facts. It reads, in date order, the six journal entries that cover this file’s individual case between August 2019 and June 2020, so a reader can see the sequence in one place. Each line links to the journal entry, which links to the exhibit or still it describes.
The case file, in date order
- 2019-08-05 · Estimate and reminder for order 1058152 (PDFs in the exhibits and inbox stills); the owner is later asked to choose repair or return unrepaired.
- 2019-09-04 · Customer Care calls the purchase proof “not acknowledgeable”: manufacturer guarantee only if an authorised dealer can be verified, otherwise claims go to the seller. The receipts remain on the inbox page.
- 2019-09-11 · The complainant’s screenshots show the path of the official 2014 CCD notice on leica-camera.com returning 403 (EX01–EX02).
- 2019-09-16 · The Hong Kong thread alleging that Schmidt Marketing (Hong Kong) Ltd publicly promised lifetime CCD coverage.
- 2019-11-11 · A Europe-only return address, explained by customs; the complainant cited the Hong Kong Consumer Council and earlier discussion of shipping to Hong Kong.
- 2020-06-24 · A new order 1105973 linked to 1058152, with receipt and estimate, dated months after the October 2019 CCD production stop that the Complaint Manager stated later, in 2022.
Why the sequence matters
Within about three months, as alleged, the same camera met four different answers: a paid estimate, a purchase proof called “not acknowledgeable” (landing page), a public 2014 notice that no longer loaded (403 note), and a return address limited to Europe (Europe-only note). In parallel, the Hong Kong thread alleged a lifetime CCD promise by the local distributor (Schmidt HK). The 2022 Complaint Manager message later dated the CCD production stop to October 2019 (journal 2022-06-26), yet order 1105973 followed in June 2020 (order note).
These are the complainant’s records and allegations, not findings. They map onto the archive’s open questions, in particular Q2 (the 403 notice), Q3 (Schmidt HK), Q4 (purchase proof) and Q9 (the October 2019 stop vs the June 2020 estimate); see the questions page and the timeline.
Open line as of 2026-10-24: no numbered point-by-point written reply to Q1–Q12 is on file. A company letter dated 2 October 2026 is on file; the consumer disputes its closure of the matter (2026-10-03 update). Allegations and unanswered questions only, not a court finding.
