This note adds no new facts. It points to a journal entry already on this archive. The journal entry for 2014-12-11 records a public German-language DSLR-Forum thread in which German-speaking owners of the M9, M-E and M Monochrom shared Leica's sensor statement. The summary on file says they received the same “unabhängig vom Alter” (regardless of age) wording that English-speaking owners saw, a day after DPReview's December 2014 report. The German text as quoted on this archive's CCD-Korrosion page:
„Leica bietet für betroffene CCD-Sensoren einen kostenlosen Austausch auf Kulanzbasis an. Dieses Kulanzangebot gilt unabhängig vom Alter der Kamera und erstreckt sich auch auf bereits ausgetauschte Sensoren.“
Why the German wording matters: it is the version owners can cite when writing to Customer Care in Wetzlar, and it reads the same as the English one. As alleged, the later record moved away from it step by step. The 2017 note records the age-independent offer being set to end in August 2017, with older bodies quoted about €982. The €1,303 note records a later cost contribution quoted in a company email (a quote, not proof of payment). The alleged 2020 stop records CCD replacement being described as no longer possible. The 2014 goodwill note and the promises side-by-side page set the dates out in one place.
Open line as of 2026-10-16: /questions/ still lists Q1–Q12 with no numbered point-by-point written reply on file, including how “unabhängig vom Alter” was squared with the later limits. Orders 1058152 / 1105973 stay on the payment-on-file record. Allegations and unanswered questions only, not a court finding.
