This note adds no new facts. Earlier updates read the record from the owners’ side (owner reports 2014–2025) and from this file’s own case (autumn 2019 in one file). This one lists only what the archive records as said by Leica, its magazine, its staff or its service pages, in date order. Each line links to the journal entry or update that holds the source.
The company side, in date order
- 2014-12-11 · Leica’s house magazine LFI restates CCD goodwill independent of camera age and gives a Customer Care address and phone line.
- 2017-05-22 · As reported by DPReview: the regardless-of-age offer is set to expire on 16 August 2017, with a €982 contribution for older bodies.
- 2018-12-01 · A €1303 + VAT price class from 1 December 2018, later quoted to this customer by Customer Care on 6 September 2019.
- 2019-09-04 · Customer Care calls the purchase proof “not acknowledgeable”: the manufacturer guarantee applies only if an authorised dealer can be verified.
- 2019-11-11 · A return address limited to Europe, explained by customs.
- 2020-09-12 · Leica issues a rebuttal to a third-party teardown claim about uncoated sensor glass.
- 2022-06-26 · The Complaint Manager writes that CCD production stopped in October 2019, sensors are unavailable and the 2019 process will not be restarted.
- 2026-09-20 · The official leica-camera.cn service page still says the CCD cannot be replaced.
- 2026-10-02 · A company letter dated 2 October 2026 treats the matter as closed; the consumer disputes that and asks for each product and payment to be reconciled.
What the list shows
Read in sequence, as alleged, the answer moved from an age-independent goodwill offer (goodwill 2014) to a dated, paid window (2017 note), a higher price class (2018 note), a dispute over who may claim (not acknowledgeable), and finally to a part said to be unavailable (2022 note, Chinese service page). The promises page sets the same dates side by side.
What the list does not contain is a numbered, point-by-point written reply to the archive’s twelve questions. These are records and allegations, not findings; the open items are on the questions page, in particular Q1 (2014 goodwill), Q4 (purchase proof) and Q9 (the October 2019 stop vs the June 2020 estimate), and the full sequence is on the timeline.
Open line as of 2026-10-26: no numbered point-by-point written reply to Q1–Q12 is on file. A company letter dated 2 October 2026 is on file; the consumer disputes its closure of the matter (2026-10-03 update). Allegations and unanswered questions only, not a court finding.
